Trump's Trade War with China

Reasonable minds can disagree about whether we needed to go to war with China by imposing tariffs on American goods made there. But all should agree that it was stupid to do it alone -- without any other country joining us. So far, the war is not going well.

But we are losing in so many areas now. I just read that Trump has decided to allow asbestos to be used again in construction. Why? There is one company that still makes it. It's a Russian company who branded their product with his face.. Nothing to see here...

Yes we have all heard the "good" news on the economy. Trump and especially the ring wing media are always blaring their horns about it. But considering how much we are borrowing and the huge tax cuts (mostly for the wealthy) to stoke the economy we should be doing much better.

And if you look close, how good are we doing? Again, huge deficits. And the jobs? Look at them closely. Most of the available jobs are bad jobs. Plain and simple. They are not living wage jobs. Even huge, booming, companies like Amazon are not creating very many good jobs.

How about 5G? Probably the biggest technological thing over the next decade -- and we are building out an inferior product to what the Chinese are building. Everyone else in the world (including our NATO allies) are going with the Chinese product.

We are losing. In so many ways. Whoever wins in 2020 is going to have deal with the Trump recession/depression.
