Meaning of Jesus' Cleansing the Temple

It seems conservative often say Jesus was just upset at the money changers because they were defiling the temple with coins celebrating other gods. That's not the case though.

The money changers were not defiling God's House by exchanging foreign coins for those of the Temple, which had no images of foreign gods on them. It was because they were gouging the pilgrims by inflating the rate of exchange. Temple coins served to allow the pilgrim to purchase the necessary animals for the sacrifice.

So Jesus was angry about the injustice in God's house and he displayed that anger like he did no other time as recorded in scripture.
